Each concert will be 30 minutes (approx) and will be followed by a Q&A session with the performing artist(s).

The concerts will be live on Zoom. We have done all we can to achieve the best possible audio experience but we can only work within the bounds of the technology available at present. We advise using headphones.

Booking will close 60 minutes before the start of concert to allow time to process payments and send out the meeting ID and password. With the increased amount of traffic in cyberspace at this time some replies are being delayed. To ensure that you receive your meeting ID and password in time please book as far in advance as possible. The meeting ID will be sent to you approximately 1 hour before the concert starts.

Steve Ash, piano Chris Haney, bass

New York City pianist Steve Ash is a favorite of those in the know - the ultimate sideman, and an extremely fine trio pianist as well. In his 40 years on the scene, he has appeared with Frank Wess, Jon Hendricks, Kurt Elling, Sheila Jordan, Jimmy Cobb, Louis Hayes, Eddie Harris, Warren Vache, Harry Allen, Joe Magnarelli, Annie Ross, Mel Lewis and Vernell Fournier, just to name a few.

 He has performed in many New York City jazz clubs, including:

The Blue Note, Village Vanguard, Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola, Birdland, Smoke Jazz and Supper Club, Smalls, Mezzrow, Jazz Gallery, Iridium, Django, 55 Bar, Zinc Bar, and the 75 Club.

Steve was honored to be selected by The Kennedy Center and The U.S. State Department to tour West Africa and France as part of The Jazz Ambassadors in 2004. His touring experience also includes performing at The Bern Jazz Festival with Warren Vache’s All Stars in 2001, The Caesarea Jazz Festival in Israel with The Harry Allen Quartet in 2006, The New Mexico Jazz Festival with Jon Hendricks in 2012, Jazz at Lincoln Center Shanghai in 2018 with The Bruce Harris Quintet.

His recordings include Steve Ash, “Once I Loved”, The Steve Ash Trio, “Everything I Love,” Warren Vache’s “ Swingtime”, the Metropolitan Bopera-House, “Still Comin’ On Up”, Barbara Lea with The Loren Schoenberg Big Band, “Black Butterfly”, The Neal Miner Sextet,  “The Evening Sound”, and Fabien Mary, “Conception”.

Steve’s piano can be heard in the movie “Evening” (2007), accompanying Claire Danes on “Time After Time” as well as on the movie’s soundtrack recording, playing a solo version of “Pretend”.

Chris Haney was born in Xenia, Ohio and has been living in New York City since 2002. He has performed throughout the United States, Europe, South America, and the Caribbean. Chris has recorded or performed with Brad Leali, Greg Tardy, Wessell Anderson, Bobby Porcelli, Joe Magnarelli, Ray Vega and many others. He can be seen performing regularly at jazz clubs such as Smalls, Fat Cat, and Mezzrow in New York City.

Los Angeles, California-born pianist/composer Danny Grissett has been one of the most sought-after musicians on the New York and international jazz scenes for the last 15 years.  He began playing the piano at age five, formally studying classically when he turned six. Danny is a graduate of Cal State University Dominguez Hills (B.A. Music Education 1998), Cal Arts (M.F.A. Jazz Keyboard Performance 2000), and the prestigious Thelonious Monk Institute, where he had the opportunity to study with jazz masters Barry Harris, Herbie Hancock, Terence Blanchard, Kenny Barron, Bobby Watson, Jimmy Heath and Roy Haynes. After spending a few additional years in Los Angeles sharpening his skills with the help of Billy Higgins, John Heard, and Roy McCurdy, Danny made a move to NY in 2003. 

Upon arrival in New York in, Danny quickly became a sideman of choice for artists such as Vincent Herring, Nicholas Payton, Jeremy Pelt, and Vanessa Rubin. He also joined trumpeter/composer Tom Harrell’s groups, an ongoing association for the past 14 years. He has appeared on 7 of the last 10 releases from the great trumpeter.

Danny began is solo career in 2006 with the release of his debut recording “Promise” on the Criss Cross Jazz label, to much critical acclaim. He followed “Promise” with four additional remarkable recordings, over the next 8 years, during which he split his time between sideman projects and touring his trio. This time included stints with Benny Golson, Russell Malone, Louis Hayes, Lenny White, Buster Williams, Lage Lund, Marcus Strickland, and Jimmy Greene.

In addition to keeping an international performance schedule, Grissett has become a highly regarded educator. Has been an adjunct faculty member at New School University in NYC, and a guest lecturer at Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY. He has given master classes in Japan, Italy, New York, Slovenia, South Korea, and Denmark. And he is currently on the faculty at Jam Music Lab University in Vienna. His latest recording, Remembrance, was released in late 2017 on the NY recording label Savant. It received 4 out of 5 stars in Downbeat Magazine.

Joris Teepe has been (and still is) working with many Legends & Stars in Jazz such as Benny Golson, Rashied Ali, Barry Harris, Bobby Watson, Sonny Fortune, Tom Harrell, Chris Potter, Billy Hart and Randy Brecker. His longest stint was with Rashied Ali (John Coltrane’s last drummer), with whom he recorded 4 CDs and toured the world for 9 years. Joris Teepe has been leading his own groups for 25 years and has recorded 16 CD’s as a leader. Teepe has composed over 100 originals, including pieces for Symphony Orchestra & Small Jazz Group and for Symphony Orchestra, Big Band & Choir. He leads his own Big Band in New York, performing exclusively his own music. He also performs his own repertoire as a guest soloist with local Big Bands. One of his latest projects is the “Trio of Liberty” co-led by Don Braden. This trio marks their 25th year of musical cooperation . Down Beat selected their CD “conversations” as CD of the year 2017. Another new project is “In the Spirit of Rashied Ali” and a new CD was recorded and will be released in the Spring of 2018.
