The Programme
Morning Sessions and Workshops
We begin each day by coming together to participate in a unique sequence of activities which collectively stimulate self-awareness and enhance creativity.
These sessions will feature a different combination of activities every day: expect regular workshops on pulse, vocal/body/breathing, movement and coordination.
Martial Arts and Tai Chi for Musicians - by Luciano Vida
Luciano Vida - Tai Chi Master and Director of ITKA SPAIN
This training, when applied to a musician's relationship to his/her instrument, can bring tremendous physical and mental an ease, composure and command to the act of performance. We highly recommend attending this session as the benefits are great, but students should not feel obliged to attend if they do not want to.
Pulse Training - by Stephen Keogh
Pulse lies at the heart of music, and developing one's own inner pulse is the goal of these sessions. The work fosters awareness – of the pulse, of silence, of the other members of the group. This workshop is hugely beneficial to musicians of every kind.
Instrumental Class - 1hr 45 mins - extended by 30 mins
These sessions are led by a tutor for student to work to improve and develop their
instrumental technique; dexterity, fluidity, speed, as well as sound and projection.

Afternoon Sessions
The Playing Session - New addition to timetable
After lunch break a period for playing has been incorporated into the timetable. A rhythm section will be provided for the saxophonists, and any other instrumentalists, for playing through tunes and rehearsing pieces simply for enjoyment, or in preparation for performing at the masterclass or the after hours jam session. A saxophone tutor will be there to support or help with any musical questions studetns may have.
Masterclass with Q&A
Jerry Bergonzi is one of the greatest tenor saxophonists in the history of Jazz. This is a rare opportunity to learn from, and be along side of, a true jazz legend. Jerry, Bruce and the band will share their combined vast musical experience in a relaxed, informal, but serious way, leading these sessions, with the instruments at hand. A wealth of musical insight and information is imparted along with anecdotes from their lives as touring musicians at the height of their careers. We may alternate between master-class scenario, discussion and playing together. Students should have their instruments ready in case they are invited to play.
